PRESTIGE MEDIA GROUP S.A. acquires "RUNDSCHAU MEDIEN AG"
Bringing together the strengths of a family-run company in Switzerland and the potential of a global company in Paris creates new synergies, innovatively tackling a modern publisher's challenges, such as digital transformation and international cooperation.
Family-run Rundschau Medien AG has gained great respect throughout Switzerland's media landscape in the last 15 years, with the high-end magazine PRESTIGE, the travel magazine IMAGINE, a number of trade magazines such as kmuRUNDSCHAU or bauRUNDSCHAU, and regional business magazines like Geschäftsführer Basel. Founder and publisher Francesco J. Ciringione successfully managed the publishing house ─ with a firm hand and new journalistic ideas time and again ─ through the rough waters for the print media industry.
However, the current situation in the publishing industry requires a proactive approach and further strategic steps. A family-run publishing house can hardly meet the challenges of today's media world on its own.
Rundschau Medien AG, as a medium-sized Swiss media boutique, fits perfectly into the portfolio and future alignment of Paris-based PRESTIGE MEDIA GROUP S.A. Rundschau Medien AG is now an important building block for the companies belonging to PRESTIGE MEDIA GROUP S.A. But this is not simply a takeover – a larger fish swallowing a small fish. The company intends to build on the strengths of a publisher with its roots in Switzerland, and Rundschau Medien AG's location in Muttenz (CH) will remain entirely as it is.
Tibor Müller, President of PRESTIGE MEDIA GROUP S.A., who has already taken a seat on the Board of Directors of Rundschau Medien AG to support the expansion, emphasises: “We are pleased about our Group's expansion and the opportunities we will be obtaining from this. Rundschau Medien AG will allow us to strengthen our activities in different countries. Franchise solutions for the flagship magazine PRESTIGE are in the works. The strategic realignment and expansion of Rundschau Medien AG's digital services are also particularly important to me”.
Those responsible for Rundschau Medien AG continue to operate. Tibor Müller therefore also points out, “With Boris Jaeggi and Hasan Dursun, I have a long-standing management team at Rundschau Medien AG and I thoroughly look forward to working with them in the future”. In addition, the former owner Francesco J. Ciringione will continue offering his advice.
Those responsible for Rundschau Medien AG are now seeing new opportunities to raise the publisher to new heights in terms of quality and quantity. Boris Jaeggi, Member of the Board of Directors at Rundschau Medien AG, analyses this: “With PRESTIGE MEDIA GROUP S.A. and its numerous companies, we have strong partners at our side to help us continue on our path, further accelerate expansion on an international level and strengthen our brands. This cooperation opens up unprecedented opportunities for us. We can offer our customers even higher quality and greater distribution. We are already looking forward to kicking off all new projects and opportunities, especially with digital solutions, and presenting them to others shortly”.
To take account of growth and to support expansion, PRESTIGE MEDIA GROUP S.A. will be listed on the Euronext stock exchange in Paris this autumn. This will enable the PRESTIGE MEDIA GROUP S.A. to offer investors interesting investment opportunities.
